Many think that California (specifically Gilroy) is the garlic capital of the world; but actually, most of the garlic that Americans consume comes from China. This may not be a big deal to everyone reading this, but we’ve heard from more than a few customers who were in search of California grown garlic. We couldn’t agree more – there have been several scientific taste tests that have continuously shown that California garlic tastes better than imported garlic, with higher consumer ratings on the Brix (flavor) scale.
There is no question that Chinese garlic is less expensive, but we’ve made the decision to only offer California grown Garlic Flakes.
